The GraceLoop is an empowerment project created to support the women and youth of the Syferkuil community through the art of crochet. Our makers pour their time, care and imagination into every handmade item. Beyond creating unique clothing and accessories, The GraceLoop provides our members with a tangible way to earn an income, fund their education and build their futures. Each item is a testament to their strong work ethic and a direct link between their craftsmanship and your support.
Fridah
Fridah has called Syferkuil home for more than 50 years. Whenever she connects with us, it is a delight; she reliably brings a warm presence and greets us with a shy but excited smile. For Fridah, this crochet initiative provides a meaningful creative outlet and a practical sense of purpose.
Caroline
Caroline is a devoted mother who consistently works to provide for her children. Her strong work ethic is undeniable. Through her crochet work, she applies a quiet determination, utilizing her skills to practically and financially support her family.
Manase
Manase is an energetic14-year-old girl. Full of curiosity, she recently earned her first allowance through the Grace Loop project. She proudly used her gains to buy a birthday gift for her mother – a practical milestone and a clear reflection of her generous nature.
Nanki
Nanki is a creative Grade 12 learner. While she can be naturally shy when she first arrives, she has openly shared her fascination with piloting and aeroplanes. Her involvement in the project allows her to channel her imagination into her handmade pieces, dedicating time to her craft alongside her high school coursework.
